About the Instructor

This course will be conducted by Lisa Beutler, Executive Facilitator/Principal Coordinator with Stantec. With well over 30 years of experience, Ms. Beutler is one of the premier water facilitators in the country.  She has supported outreach for the California Water Plan for over 15 years, and has been the executive facilitator for multiple flood management, and water quality and supply efforts.  She currently serves as an executive facilitator for implementation of the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act, where she oversees facilitation activities in 16 subbasins.  Previously with the Center for Collaborative Policy at California State University Sacramento, she is also a well-regarded instructor and a regular guest lecturer for courses at Sacramento State and UC Davis.  Her work has been featured in numerous professional publications and several books, the most recent one published by the American Planning Association and titled: Planning in the Face of Conflict (2013).
