Lester Snow, a natural resource consultant with more than 40 years of water resource management experience in California and Arizona, will discuss changing priorities of the State and Federal water projects, water resources management adaptation of the West, and his current work on the Klamath River. Mr. Snow currently serves as the Vice President of Klamath River Renewal Corporation, a non-profit public benefit corporation created to restore over 400 miles of fisheries habitat on the Klamath River primarily through the removal of four hydropower facilities.
Mr. Snow has served on the board of directors for California Water Service Group since 2011, and previously was the Executive Director for the Water Foundation for over 5 years. He was also the California Natural Resources Secretary in 2010, and California Department of Water Resource Director from 2004 to 2010. His experience includes policy and program development, utility management, habitat restoration, climate adaptation and integrated resource management. He developed a groundwater management strategy, which significantly contributed to the passage of the California's Sustainable Groundwater Management Act of 2014. He is currently focusing on Climate Adaptation through integrated water management, improved data systems for water management and safe drinking water for disadvantaged communities.
