Experience Rivers in a Canoe

Want to explore the magic of rivers from a boat? Canoes have connected people to rivers for thousands of years—and still do! Join us for adventures in canoes that range from exploring a little piece of California by boat to learning the techniques necessary to take you to the next level of adventure

Friends of the River is offering AWRA NorCal members slots to join them on a scenic canoe trip on the American River through the heart of the American River Parkway on Saturday, July 8th. No experience needed, and equipment will be provided along with a short skills class taught at the beginning of the trip. Mary Maret, Natural Resource Specialist for Sacramento County Parks, will discuss the current restoration and conservation work happening on the river and how it is being managed today.

Registration is $35 ($10 for Friends of the River members) and is accessible directly through the Friends of the River website:

See the attached flyer for additional details. More details will be provided before the trip, including the meet-up location. There are a limited number of spots available for AWRA NorCal so please register asap.
